About Me

Maria and I eating crepes in a cafe in Niagara Falls.

My Name is Vincent John Hamalainen

I was born and raised in New Jersey. I obtained a BA in Economics from Rutgers University in 2011. After a year of post-graduation flux, I began work at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. During my time there, I enrolled in the part-time MBA program at NYU Stern in the hopes of advancing my career. At some point along the way I realized, finance wasn’t for me and I began to delve into the world of coding and data. In 2020, I transferred to a data-oriented role at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and finished my MBA in May of the same year.

Since May 2021, I have lived in Oregon with my lovely wife Maria and our adorable cats, Sameth and Sabriel.
